Prophets in Islam

We are here to open an honest, calm, and respectful window into Islam.

One of the basic principles of Islam is that all the prophets sent by God throughout history are messengers of truth and guidance, who came with a single call to worship God alone. Muslims believe in Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Noah, Joseph, David, Solomon and other prophets, revere and respect them, and consider disbelief in any of God's prophets to be a departure from faith.

The Holy Qur'an emphasises that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not a new prophet with a new religion, but rather the conclusion of a series of prophets who came with the same core message: monotheism, justice and morality. Therefore, Islam does not exclude previous religions, but recognises their divine origin and calls for belief in all God's messengers without distinction.

This unique doctrine emphasises the universality of Islam and establishes bridges of mutual respect between followers of divine religions.

Summary of the stories of the prophets and apostles

Allah has not narrated to us all of His prophets and messengers, but only some of them.

God Almighty said: We have sent messengers before you, some of whom we have narrated to you and some of whom we have not narrated to you, Ghafir (78).

Those named by the Qur'an are twenty-five prophets and messengers.

God Almighty said: And this is our argument that We gave to Abraham over his people: We raise the ranks of whomever We will, for Your Lord is wise and all-knowing, and We gave him Isaac and Jacob, both of whom We guided, and Noah We guided beforehand, and from his descendants David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. Zachariah, Yahya, Isaiah, Elias, all of the righteous, and Ismail, Ishmael, Elijah, Jonah, Lot, and all of them, and all of them We have preferred above the worlds, Anam (83-86): and We have bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob, all of whom We guided, and Noah We guided before.

These are eighteen prophets mentioned in one context.

Adam, Huda, Salih, Shuaiba, Idris, and Al-Kifl are mentioned in various places in the Qur'an, followed by our Prophet Muhammad, may God's peace and blessings be upon all of them.

The name of Al-Khidr is mentioned in the Sunnah, although there is a strong disagreement among scholars: Is he a prophet or a righteous wali?

Also mentioned: Joshua ibn Nun, who succeeded Moses (peace be upon him) over his people and conquered Jerusalem.

God Almighty has mentioned in the Holy Qur'an the stories of some of the prophets and messengers, peace be upon them, in order for people to consider and learn from them, because of the lessons and sermons they contain. They are fixed stories that occurred during the prophets' call to their people, so they contain many lessons that show the right approach and rational path in the call to God, in a way that achieves the goodness, happiness, and survival of the people in this world and the next, God Almighty said: (Allah says: "There is a lesson in their stories for those who are wise; it was not a fabricated story, but a confirmation of that which is before it, the detail of all things, and a guidance and mercy for those who believe.)

Here is a summary of the stories of the prophets and messengers mentioned in the Holy Quran

Adam, peace be upon him

God Almighty mentioned in His dear Book the story of the creation of Adam (peace be upon him), the first of the prophets; He created him with His own hand in the image that He desired, so he was a creature honoured above all other creatures, and God Almighty created Adam's offspring in His own image and likeness: (And when your Lord took from the children of Adam from their backs their offspring and testified to them on themselves, "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we bear witness.") After Allah created Adam, He placed him in Paradise with his wife Hawa, who was created from his rib, and they enjoyed its bliss, except for one tree from which Allah forbade them to eat, so Satan tempted them to eat from it. They ate from the tree until their nakedness was exposed, so they covered themselves with the leaves of the garden, and God addressed Adam, reproaching him for eating from that tree after explaining Satan's enmity to him, and warning him not to follow his whispers again, and Adam expressed his deep regret for his act, and showed God his repentance.

God Almighty also mentioned in the Holy Qur'an the story of the two sons of Adam, peace be upon him, namely: When Adam, peace be upon him, learnt of Cain's intention, he asked both of them to offer a sacrifice to God, and God accepted Abel's offering, which angered Cain, and he threatened his brother with death, saying: "I will tell them the story of the two sons of Adam in the truth, when they offered a sacrifice and it was accepted from one of them: (And recite to them the story of the two sons of Adam in truth, when they offered a sacrifice, and it was accepted from one of them and not from the other, and he said, "I will kill you." He said, "God only accepts those who are pious* If you reach out your hand to kill me, I will not reach out my hand to kill you." *If you reach out your hand to kill me, I will not kill you. I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds* I want you to take my sin and your sin, and you will be one of the companions of the Fire, and that is the punishment of the unjust* So he allowed his soul to kill his brother and killed him, and he became one of the losers.)

Idris, peace be upon him

Idris, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets mentioned by Allah Almighty in His Holy Book, and he preceded the Prophet Noah, peace be upon him: Idris, peace be upon him, was the first to write with the pen, the first to sew clothes and wear them, and he also had knowledge of astronomy, stars and arithmetic. Idris, peace be upon him, was characterised by noble qualities and morals, such as patience and righteousness; therefore he attained a great status with Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty said: The Prophet Muhammad mentioned in the story of the Miraj that he saw Idris (peace be upon him) in the fourth heaven, which indicates his high status and position in the sight of his Lord.

Noah, peace be upon him

Noah, peace be upon him, is considered the first messenger sent to the people, and he is one of the first of the Prophets. He spent a thousand years but fifty years calling his people to the monotheism of God, and called them to abandon the worship of idols that could neither do them harm nor good, and guided them to worship God alone, so he called them day and night, secretly and openly. He called them day and night, secretly and openly, but this call did not help them, as they met it with arrogance and ingratitude, and they closed their ears so that they would not hear his call. Then God inspired Noah to make an ark, so he made it despite the mockery of the polytheists among his people, and waited for God's command to board the ark with those who believed in his call, in addition to two pairs of every kind of living creature. This happened by God's command when the sky opened up with abundant water and the earth burst into springs and springs. The water met in a great form and a majestic flood that drowned the people who disbelieved in God, and Noah and those who believed with him were saved.

Hud (peace be upon him)

God Almighty sent Hud (peace be upon him) to the people of Adad, who lived in a region called Al-Ahqaf (plural of Haqaf, meaning "sandy mountain"): The purpose of sending Hud was to call the people of Adad to worship Allah, monotheism, abandon polytheism and idolatry, and remind them of the blessings that Allah had bestowed upon them, such as wealth, children, fruitful gardens, and succession in the land after the people of Nuh, and showed them the reward for believing in Allah. He showed them the reward for believing in God and the consequence of turning away from Him, but they met his call with rejection and arrogance, and did not respond despite their prophet's warning, so God punished them for their polytheism by sending a strong wind on them, which destroyed them: So We sent upon them a bitter wind in days of distress, to give them a taste of the punishment of disgrace in this life, but the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe, and they will not be saved." (Allah sent upon them a severe wind in days of distress to give them a taste of the punishment of disgrace in this life, and the punishment of the Hereafter will be more severe, and they will not be saved).

Saleh, peace be upon him

God sent his prophet Saleh (peace be upon him) to the people of Thamud after idolatry and idolatry appeared among them. He called them to worship God alone and abandon polytheism, and reminded them of the many blessings that God had bestowed upon them; their lands were fertile, and God had given them strength and skill in building, despite these blessings, but they did not respond to the call of their prophet. They asked him to bring them a sign to prove his sincerity, so God sent them the camel from the rock as a miracle to support the call of his prophet Saleh. Saleh, peace be upon him, agreed with his people that they would have a day to drink and the camel would have a day, but the leaders of his people who were arrogant agreed to kill the camel, so God punished them by sending the shout on them, God Almighty said: "When the command of the Lord came: (When our command came, we saved Salih and those who believed with him with a mercy from us, and from the shame of that day, for your Lord is the strong and mighty* And those who were wronged took the shout, and they became crouched in their homes as if they had never sung there, as if they had never sung there, for the Thamud disbelieved their Lord.)

Lot, peace be upon him

God sent Lot, peace be upon him, to his people, calling them to the monotheism of God Almighty and to uphold righteous deeds and good morals. They were practising sodomy, that is, they were lustfully having sex with men but not with women, and they were cutting off the path of people, attacking their property and honour, as well as practising abominations and abnormal acts in their meeting places, and Lot, peace be upon him, was distressed by what he saw and witnessed of his people and their deviations from righteousness, and he continued to call them to worship God alone and abandon their acts and deviations. However, they refused to believe in the message of their prophet and threatened him with expulsion from their village. He met their threat by persisting in his call and warned them of God's torment and punishment, and when God Almighty ordered to inflict His punishment on the people, He sent angels in human form to his prophet Lot, peace be upon him, to announce the destruction of his people and those who followed their path, in addition to his wife, who was included in the torment with her people, and they also announced his survival with those who believed with him from the torment.

God sent torment on those of Lot's people who did not believe, the first of which was by blinding their eyes, Almighty God said: (We had turned him away from his guest, so we blurred their eyes, so taste my punishment and my warning), then they were taken by the shout, their village was turned upside down, and stones of clay different from the usual stones were sent on them, Almighty God said: (They were taken by the shout, and their village was turned upside down: Then the shout took them, and their village was turned upside down, and stones of clay, different from the usual stones, were sent upon them, saying: (Except for the family of Lot and those who believed with him, they went on their way to where God commanded them without specifying their destination: (Except for Lot's family, we will save them all* Except for his woman, we judged that she would be among the departed* When the messengers came to Lot's family* He said, "You are a disbelieving people* They said, "No, we have brought you what they were doubting* And we have brought you the truth. So take your people by part of the night and follow their backs, and do not turn away from any of you, and go wherever you are commanded* And We decreed to him that the path of these people will be cut off in the morning.)

Shuaib, peace be upon him

Allah sent Shu'ayb, peace be upon him, to the people of Midian after idolatry and polytheism had appeared among them. That village was known for overbalancing the scale and balance; its inhabitants would overbalance the scale if they bought something and underbalance it if they sold it. He called them to worship Allah alone and abandon their idols, and forbade them from overbalancing the scales, warning them of Allah's punishment and retribution, so the people of the village split into two groups; some of them became arrogant about the call of Allah, and they deceived their prophet, accusing him of magic and lying. Then Shu'ayb left Midian and went to Ika'a, whose people were polytheists who overbalanced the scales like the people of Midian, so Shu'ayb called them to worship Allah and abandon their polytheism. The people did not respond, so Shu'ayb left them and returned to Midian again, and when God's command occurred, the polytheists of Midian were tormented by a tremor and a devastating earthquake that destroyed their village, as well as the Ikeh: (And to Midian their brother Shu'aybah said, "O my people, worship Allah, hope for the Last Day, and do not wander in the earth corruptly."* They disbelieved him, so the tremor took them, and they became crouched in their homes: (The Companions of the Ayykah disbelieved the messengers* when Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear* I am a faithful messenger* Fear Allah and obey me?)

Ibrahim, peace be upon him

Ibrahim, peace be upon him, lived among people who worshipped idols without God, and his father used to make them and sell them to the people, but Ibrahim, peace be upon him, did not follow what his people were doing and wanted to show them the falsity of their polytheism, so he showed them proof that their idols were neither harmful nor beneficial; on the day they went out, he destroyed all their idols except one large one, so that the people would return to it and know that it was neither harmful nor beneficial. However, they lit a fire to burn Ibrahim, peace be upon him, when they learnt what he had done to their idols, and God saved him from it. He also proved to them that the moon, the sun and the planets were not fit for worship, as they called those names to the idols, so he gradually showed them that worship can only be given to the Creator of the moon, the sun, the planets, the heavens and the earth.

The Almighty said in describing the story of his Prophet Ibrahim: (When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are worshipping?"* They said, "We found our fathers worshipping them."* He said, "You and your fathers were in a clear delusion."* They said, "Have you come to us with the truth or are you one of those who play games?"* He said, "Rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the one who created them, and I am one of the witnesses to that. of the heavens and the earth, who created them, and I am one of the witnesses to this*And by God, I will worship your idols after you have turned away from them*And he made them They said, "Whoever did this to our gods, he is one of the unjust ones."* They said, "We have heard a young man mentioning them, called Ibrahim. Ibrahim* They said, "Bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness."* They said, "Did you do this to our gods, O Ibrahim* He said, "No, it was done by their elders. So ask them if they speak* So they turned back to themselves and said, "You are the wrongdoers."* Then they turned back on their heads and said, "You know what these people They said, "Do you worship without God that which neither benefits you nor harms you?"* He said, "Do you worship without God that which neither benefits you nor harms you?"* They said, "Do you not know what you worship without God? Burn him and support your gods, if you are willing*We said, O fire, be cold and peaceful to Ibrahim*But they wanted to harm him, so we made them the losers.)

He travelled with them to Harran, then to Palestine, then to Egypt, where he married Hagar the Egyptian and gave birth to Ishmael, peace be upon him, and then had Isaac, peace be upon him, from his wife Sarah after God Almighty sent angels to announce this to him; a power from God Almighty after they reached a certain age.

Ismail, peace be upon him

Abraham had Ishmael by his second wife Hajar the Egyptian, which made his first wife Sarah jealous, so she asked him to keep Hajar and her son away from her, so he did, until they reached the land of Hijaz, which was a barren, empty land, then he left them by the order of Allah, heading to call for his monotheism, and called upon his Lord to take care of his wife Hajar and his son Ismail. Hajar took care and nursed her son Ismail, and looked after him until her food and drink ran out, so she began to seek between two mountains, namely Safa and Marwa, thinking that there would be water in one of them, until a water spring appeared by the order of Allah (swt): Hajar took care of her son Ishmael and nursed him until her food and drink ran out, so she began to seek between two mountains, Safa and Marwa, thinking that there would be water in one of them, until a spring of water appeared by the command of God Almighty; God willed that this spring of water would be a well through which caravans would pass (Zamzam Well), and that area became fertile and prosperous by the grace of God Almighty, and Abraham, peace be upon him, returned to his wife and son after completing the task assigned by his Lord.

Ibrahim, peace be upon him, saw in a dream that he was slaughtering his son Ishmael, and they complied with the command of their Lord, as the visions of the prophets are true, but God Almighty did not intend that command to be actually implemented, but it was a test, test and test for Ibrahim and Ishmael, peace be upon them, and Ishmael was redeemed with a great sacrifice from God, then God ordered them to build the honoured Kaaba, and they obeyed his command, then God ordered his prophet Abraham to invite people to pilgrimage to his sacred house.

Isaac and Jacob, peace be upon them

Then Isaac was born to Isaac Jacob, peace be upon him, who is known as Israel in the Book of God; i.e. the servant of God. He married and had twelve children, including the Prophet Joseph, peace be upon him. It should be noted that there is no mention in the Qur'an about the call of Isaac, peace be upon him, and his life.

Yusuf, peace be upon him

The story of Yusuf (peace be upon him) includes many events and incidents, which are summarised below:

Revelation and sibling intrigue:

He saw the sun, the moon, and eleven planets bowing down to him in a dream. He told his father about the vision, and he ordered him to keep quiet and not to tell his brothers about it. The brothers were determined to take revenge on him because of their father's preference for him over them, so they conspired to throw Joseph into the well. They were determined to take revenge on him because of their father's preference for him over them, so they agreed to throw Joseph into the well. They asked their father for permission to take him with them, and they threw him into the well. They told their father that the wolf had eaten him, and they brought his shirt with blood on it, indicating that the wolf had eaten him.

Youssef in Aziz's palace:

Joseph, peace be upon him, was sold in the market of Egypt for a small price to the Aziz of Egypt after one of the caravans picked him up from the well when they wanted to drink from it. The wife of the Aziz was fascinated by Joseph, peace be upon him, which led her to court him and invite him to herself, but he did not pay attention to what she did, and turned away believing in Allah alone, faithful to his master, and fled from her, so the Aziz met him at the door, and his wife told him that it was Joseph who had courted her. However, the truth came out that it was she who had courted him, as evidenced by the fact that Joseph's shirt had been torn from behind. The women spoke of the woman of the Aziz, so she sent them to meet with her, gave each of them a knife, then ordered Joseph to come out to them, and they cut off their hands because they saw the beauty of Joseph, peace be upon him, and his beauty, thus showing them the reason why she had courted him from himself.

Yusuf is in prison:

Yusuf, peace be upon him, remained in prison with patience and patience. Two boys who worked for the king, one in his food and the other in his drink, had entered the prison with him; the one who worked in the king's drink had seen in his dream that he was pressing wine for the king, while the one who worked in the food had seen that he was carrying food above his head from which the birds were eating, and they had told their dreams to Yusuf to interpret them for them, so he took the opportunity to preach the religion of Allah, monotheism, and non-interference. He then interpreted the vision of squeezing the wine by getting out of prison and watering the king, while the vision of eating the bird he interpreted as crucifixion and eating the bird from the head. Yusuf had asked those who would come out of prison to mention him before the king, but he forgot to do so, so he stayed in prison for no less than three years.

Joseph's interpretation of the king's vision:

The king saw in his dream that seven emaciated cows were eating seven fat ones, and he saw seven green cows and seven dry ones. The king told his people what he had seen, but they could not interpret his vision, so the king's waiter who had escaped from prison remembered Joseph, peace be upon him, and he told the king about his knowledge in interpreting visions, and Joseph was told of the king's vision and was asked to interpret it, and he interpreted it. The king asked to meet him, but he refused until his chastity and purity were proven, so the king sent to the women who had confessed to what they had done, then Joseph, peace be upon him, interpreted the king's vision of the fertility that afflicts Egypt for seven years, then the same number of years of drought, then the prosperity that prevails after the drought, and explained to them that they should store more than they need for the years of drought and barrenness.

The empowerment of Joseph in the land and his meeting with his brothers and father:

The king of Egypt made Joseph, peace be upon him, vizier of the treasuries of the land, and the people of Egypt had prepared for the years of famine, so the people of the country came to Egypt to obtain enough food for them. Among those who came to Egypt were Joseph's brothers whom he knew, but they did not know him, and he asked them for food in exchange for their brother. They returned and told their father that the minister would not give them food again unless they brought their brother to him, and they vowed to bring their brother back to him again, so their father instructed them to enter the king through different doors, and they went to Joseph again with their brother. They were accused of theft, and they in turn claimed their innocence, but the king's cup was in their brother's sack, so Joseph took it, and his brothers asked him to take another, but he refused, and the brothers returned to their father, informed him of what happened with them, and returned to Joseph again, begging him to be charitable to them by releasing their brother He reminded them of what they had done to him when he was young, and they recognised him, and he asked them to go back and bring his parents, and gave them a shirt for him to throw on their father to restore his sight, then his parents and brothers came to him and prostrated themselves to him, thus fulfilling the vision of Joseph, peace be upon him, that he had seen when he was young.

Job, peace be upon him

The verses of the Book of Allah indicate that Ayyub, peace be upon him, was afflicted with affliction in his body, his wealth and his children, but he was patient with this, seeking reward from Allah, and turned to Him in supplication and supplication, asking Him to remove the affliction from him, so His Lord answered him, relieved his distress, and compensated him with much wealth and children, in mercy and favour of the Almighty: (And Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord, "I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."* We responded to him and removed his distress, and gave him his family and the like with them as a mercy from us and as a reminder to the worshippers).

Zulkifli, peace be upon him

Zulkifl, peace be upon him, is mentioned in two places in the Holy Qur'an; in Surat Al-Anbiya and Surat S. The Almighty said in Surat Al-Anbiya: (And Isma'il, Idris and Zulkifl are all of the patient ones), and in Surat S: (It is said that he was not a prophet, but he was called so because he took care of the work that others could not do, and because he took care of his people's worldly affairs and promised to rule among them with justice and fairness.

Yunus, peace be upon him

God sent his prophet Yunus, peace be upon him, to a people calling them to the monotheism of Almighty God, abandoning polytheism, and warning them of the consequences of remaining in their religion, but they did not respond to his call, insisted on their religion, and were arrogant to the call of their prophet, so Yunus, peace be upon him, left the village of his people without permission from his Lord, and boarded a ship, which was full of passengers and luggage, and the wind became strong while the ship was sailing, and those on board feared drowning, and began to get rid of their luggage. They decided to throw one of them out, and they voted among themselves, and it fell on Yunus (peace be upon him), so he was thrown into the sea, and God made a whale swallow him without harming him, and Yunus settled down in the belly of the whale. in the belly of the whale, praising his Lord, forgiving Him, and repenting to Him. The whale tossed him to the land by God's command, and he was sick, so God planted a pumpkin tree for him, then sent him back to his people, and God enabled them to believe in his call.

Moses, peace be upon him

The Israelites were subjected to a severe ordeal in Egypt, where Pharaoh killed their children one year, left them another year, and shamed their women. God willed that Moses' mother gave birth in the year in which the children were killed, and she feared for him from their oppression:

Moses in the ark:

Moses' mother placed her newborn in a coffin and threw him into the sea in response to God's command. God promised to return him to her, and ordered his sister to follow him and tell her about him.

Moses enters Pharaoh's palace:

God Almighty willed that the ark travelled to Pharaoh's palace, and the servants picked it up, taking the ark to Asiya, Pharaoh's wife. She uncovered what was in the ark, and found Moses, peace be upon him, and God threw his love into her heart, and although Pharaoh was about to kill him, he turned away from the matter at the behest of Asiya. God forbade him from breastfeeding; he did not accept breastfeeding from those in the palace, so they took him out to the market looking for a nurse, and his sister told them who would be suitable, and took them to his mother, thus fulfilling God's promise to return Moses to her.

Moses' departure from Egypt:

Moses, peace be upon him, left Egypt after he accidentally killed an Egyptian man in defence of a man from the Israelites who had travelled to the country of Midian.

Moses in Midian:

Moses, peace be upon him, took shelter in a tree when he arrived in Midian, and prayed to his Lord for guidance to the right path, then he went to the well of Midian, where he found two girls waiting for water for their sheep, so he watered them, then took shelter and prayed to his Lord for sustenance, and the two girls returned to their father and told him what had happened to them. The two girls returned to their father and told him what had happened to them. He asked one of them to bring Moses to thank him for his favour, so she brought him ashamedly, and agreed with him to graze for him for eight years, and if he added two years from him, provided that he would marry him to one of his two daughters, so Moses agreed to this.

Moussa's return to Egypt:

Moses, peace be upon him, returned to Egypt after fulfilling his covenant with his father-in-law. At night, he started looking for a fire to light, but he only found a fire on the side of the mountain, so he went to it alone, leaving his family, and his Lord called him, addressed him, and performed two miracles on his hands: Moses asked his Lord to help him with his brother Harun, and he was answered by his Lord, who called him to go to the Pharaoh of Egypt, calling him to worship Allah alone, and Moses asked his Lord to help him with his brother Harun.

Moses' invitation to Pharaoh:

Pharaoh denied Moses' call and challenged him with his magicians, and they agreed on a date when the two sides would meet. Pharaoh gathered the magicians and challenged Moses, peace be upon him: (Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his people with our signs, but they were arrogant and were criminal people* When the truth came to them from us, they said, "This is When the truth came to them from among us, they said, "This is magic, and magicians do not succeed."* They said, "You have come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers to be, and to be for you both. We are not believers* And Pharaoh said, "Bring me every knowledgeable magician."* When the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Cast what you are casting."* When they cast, Moses said, "Cast what you are casting." * When they cast, Moses said, "Cast what you are casting. When they cast, Moses said, "What you have brought by magic, Allah will undo it, for Allah does not reform the work of the corrupt* and Allah will establish the truth by His word, even if the criminals hate it.)

The survival of Moses and those who believed with him:

God Almighty commanded his Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, to walk with his people of the Israelites by night to escape Pharaoh, and Pharaoh gathered his soldiers and followers to follow Moses, but Pharaoh drowned with those with him.

Aaron, peace be upon him

The Prophet Aaron, peace be upon him, was the brother of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, and Aaron gained a great position from his brother; he was his right-hand man, faithful helper, and wise adviser. The verses of God mentioned the position of Aaron, peace be upon him, when he was made the successor of his brother Moses; God promised his prophet Moses at Mount Tor. However, the Samaritan made a calf, calling his people to worship it and claiming that Moses, peace be upon him, had gone astray from his people. When Harun, peace be upon him, saw their condition and their worship of the calf, he stood among them as an orator, warning them of the evil of their deed and inviting them to return from their evil. When Moses, peace be upon him, returned with the tablets of the Torah, he saw the state of his people and their worship of the calf, and was astonished at the state of his people and their persistence in worshipping the calf. He was appalled by what he saw, and threw the tablets from his hand, and began to reproach Aaron for not denouncing his people. Aaron defended himself, explaining his advice to them, his compassion for them, and that he did not want to cause discord among them, so Aaron's life was an example of honesty in speech, diligence in patience, and diligence in advice.

Joshua bin Nun, peace be upon him

Joshua ibn Nun, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets of the Israelites. He is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an without mentioning his name in Surah Al-Kahf; he was the boy of Moses who accompanied him on his journey to meet Al-Khidr: "When Moses said to his boy, I will not remain until I reach the joining of the two seas, or I will pass a period of time." Allah has bestowed upon his prophet Joshua several virtues, including: The sun was imprisoned for him and the conquest of Jerusalem by his hands.

Elias, peace be upon him

Elias, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets sent by Allah to the people to worship Allah alone. His people were worshipping idols, so Elias, peace be upon him, called them to the monotheism of Allah and to worship Him alone, warned them of Allah's punishment for the disbelievers, and explained to them the reasons for survival and success in this world and the hereafter: (Elias is among the Messengers* when he said to his people, "Will you not fear* Do you call someone else your Lord, and despise the best of creators* Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers* They disbelieved him. Except for the faithful servants of Allah* And We have left him in the last days* Peace be upon El Yasin* We also reward those who do good* He is one of our believing servants.)

Elyssa, peace be upon him

Elisha, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets of the Children of Israel from the descendants of Joseph, peace be upon him, and he is mentioned in two places in the Book of Allah: He is mentioned in two places in the Book of Allah; the first is in Surat Al-An'am: "And Isma'il, and Al-Issa'il, and Yusuf, and Lot, and all of them we have favoured above the worlds", and the second is in Surat S: "And remember Isma'il, and Al-Issa'il, and Al-Kafal, and all of the best of the best", he delivered the call of his Lord to his people by following his Lord's command.

David, peace be upon him

The Prophet David, peace be upon him, was able to kill Goliath, who was an enemy of God, then God empowered David in the land; He gave him the kingdom, endowed him with wisdom, and used several miracles for him, including the praise of the birds and the mountains with him, and David, peace be upon him, moulded iron into the shape he wanted, and excelled in it greatly, making armour: (We have bestowed upon David a favour from us, O mountains, and the birds with him, and we have softened iron for him*, and we have given him the iron*, and we have given him the ability to work with iron, and to estimate in the course of the day, and to do righteous deeds, for I am aware of what you do." Allah also revealed to David the Book of Zabur: (And We gave David the Book of Zabur, and We gave him Solomon, peace be upon him, saying: "And We gave to David Solomon, the best of servants, for he is faithful.

Solomon, peace be upon him

Solomon ibn David, peace be upon him, was a prophet and a king; God gave him a kingdom that should not be given to anyone after him. One of the manifestations of his kingdom was that God gave him the ability to understand the logic of birds and animals, and to harness the wind to run at his command to the place he wanted, and God also harnessed the jinn for him, and all of God's attention was focused on preaching the religion of God. Then the Hoopoe came to Solomon's council and told him that he was going on a mission and arrived in a country where he saw wonders; he saw a people ruled by a woman named Bilqis, and they worshiped the sun without God. Solomon was angry when he heard the news of the Hoopoe, so he sent them a letter inviting them to Islam and submitting to God's command.

Bilqis consulted with the elders of her people, then decided to send a delegation with gifts to Solomon, but Solomon was angry at the gifts, because the purpose of inviting to the monotheism of God, not receiving gifts, so he asked the delegation to return and deliver a message to Bilqis, threatening her with great soldiers to drive her and her people out of their town, so Bilqis decided to go alone to Solomon, so Solomon wanted before her coming to bring her throne; to show her the power of God that gave it to her. She did not recognise her throne at first, then Solomon informed her that it was her throne, and she surrendered with Solomon to God, the Lord of the Worlds. It is noteworthy that Solomon, peace be upon him, died while he was standing in worship, leaning on his stick, and he remained in that form for a while until God sent an insect to eat his stick until it fell to the ground, and the jinn realised that if they knew the unseen, they would not have continued working all the time that Solomon was dead without their knowledge. The Almighty said: (And We have given Solomon the wind, whose wingspan is a month and whose windspan is a month, and We have given him the eye of rain, and of the jinn who work before him by the permission of his Lord, and whoever among them deviates from Our command, We will make him suffer the punishment of hell* They shall work for him what they will, of sphinxes, statues, and earthen vessels like the answer and pots of stones; do ye the work of the House of David in thanksgiving, and few of My servants are thankful*. When We decreed his death, there was no evidence of his death except the earthworms eating his manure, and when he fell, the jinn realised that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating punishment.)

Zakariya and Yahya, peace be upon them

Zacharias, peace be upon him, is one of the prophets of the Children of Israel. He remained childless until he prayed to his Lord to give him a son to inherit the righteousness from him, so that the righteous state of the Children of Israel would continue. God answered his prayer, and gave him Yahya, whom God gave wisdom and knowledge to as a young man: (Thereupon Zacharias prayed to his Lord, saying, "O Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring, for You are the one who hears the supplication."* The angels called to him while he was standing praying in the sanctuary that Allah is announcing to you Yahya, a confirmation of a word from Allah, a master, a protector, and a prophet from among the righteous. He said, "Lord, how shall I have a son, for I am old and my wife is barren?"* He said, "God does what He wills."* He said, "Lord, make me a sign."* He said, "Your sign is that you shall not speak to men for three days, except as a symbol, and remember your Lord often and praise Him in the evening and early morning.)

Jesus, peace be upon him

God Almighty created Jesus, peace be upon him, from a mother without a father, as a sign and proof of His greatness and power, when He sent an angel to Mary and breathed into her the spirit of God, and she conceived and brought him to her people, and they denied her, so she pointed to her baby. When Jesus, peace be upon him, reached his majority, he began to perform the duties of his mission; he called his people, the Israelites, to correct their behaviour and return to adhering to the law of their Lord, and God showed miracles at his hands indicative of his truthfulness, including He called his people, the Israelites, to correct their ways and to return to the law of their Lord, and God showed miracles at his hands, including: creating birds out of clay, raising the dead, healing the blind and the lepers, and telling people what they were saving in their homes. The Almighty said: (When the angels said, "O Mary, Allah will give you glad tidings of a word from Him whose name is Christ Jesus, son of Mary, who will be a leader in this world and the next and among the near and dear ones* and will speak to people in the crib and as an infant and among the righteous* She said, "Lord, how can I have a son and no human being has touched me?" He said Allah creates what He wills; when He decides a matter, He only says to it, "Be and it shall be."* And He teaches him the Book, the Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel*, and a messenger to the children of Israel that I have brought you a sign from your Lord that I will create for you out of clay the form of a bird, and I will breathe into it, and it will become a bird. I will heal the blind and the leprous, I will revive the dead with the permission of Allah, and I will tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses, for this is a sign to you if you are believers*, and I will ratify what is between my hands of the Torah, and I will permit for you some of that which has been forbidden to you, and I will make it lawful for you. I have brought you a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me*: for Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him, and this is a straight path*. When Jesus sensed from them the disbelief, he said, "Who are my supporters to Allah?" The disciples said, "We are the supporters of Allah; we believe in Allah and testify that we are Muslims.)

Mohammed, peace be upon him

Allah sent Muhammad, the Seal of His Prophets, after he reached the age of forty. He began his call secretly and continued it for three years before Allah commanded him to make it public. He endured harm and hardship for the sake of his call, which led the companions to emigrate to Abyssinia to escape their religion, and the situation became difficult for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), especially after the death of those closest to him. The situation became difficult for the Prophet, especially after the death of those closest to him, so he left Mecca for Taif to seek support from them, but he found nothing but harm and ridicule, so he returned to complete his call, and he offered Islam to the tribes during the Hajj season. He met a group of Ansar who believed in his call and returned to Madinah to invite their families. Later, conditions were created for the first and second sale of Aqaba between the Prophet and the Ansar, thus paving the way for the migration to Madinah, so the Prophet set out with Abu Bakr in the direction of Madinah. The Prophet went with Abu Bakr towards Madinah, passing through the cave of Thawr on the way. He stayed there for three days before reaching Madinah, built the mosque upon his arrival, established the Islamic state, and continued to preach the message of Islam until he died at the age of sixty-three years.

Miracles of the Prophets

God Almighty supported His prophets with miracles to distinguish them from other human beings, as they are only found for prophets and messengers, and are one of the Sunnahs of God Almighty for His prophets. These miracles are also to be proof of the sincerity of their call and proof to those who argue with them, and usually the miracle is of the kind that the people to whom Allah Almighty sent His messengers excelled in.

God supported His prophets with many miracles, which are mentioned in the stories of the prophets and some texts of the Qur'an and Sunnah, as follows.

The Miracle of Noah

He was building the ark on the sand, and his people mocked him and accused him of madness because he was building the ark on land, until the command came from Allah (SWT) to rain from the sky, and springs burst from the ground, so Allah (SWT) said: "So the water met on a matter that has been decided", so the earth and those in it were drowned except those who rode in the hidden miracle, which is the ark.

The Miracle of Ibrahim (peace be upon him)

God Almighty supported his Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with many miracles, namely:

- (They said, "Burn him and support your gods if you are doing so." * We said, "O fire, be cold and peaceful to Abraham.") This was after he had broken their idols and convinced them that they neither harm nor benefit, so they threw him into the fire in support of their idols.

- This was after he saw a vision in a dream that he was slaughtering his son Ishmael, peace be upon him, who came to him when he was eighty-six years old and had become a young man, so God Almighty tested him by slaughtering him, so he responded to his command and wanted to slaughter him, so God Almighty revealed to him that he succeeded in the test, and God Almighty redeemed him with a great slaughter, for He said: (And we called out to him that O Abraham* you have believed the vision, and we reward those who do well* that this is the obvious test* and we redeemed him with a great sacrifice).

The Miracle of Saleh (peace be upon him)

The people of Salih (peace be upon him) were famous for carving in the rock. They carved houses from the rock with decorations and inscriptions. They asked their prophet to bring out of the rock a living camel that would eat and drink so that they would believe in him. He prayed to his Lord to bring out a camel with the same characteristics that they mentioned, and God Almighty answered him, and brought out of the rock a camel with a soul and life: (And to Thamud, their brother Salih said, "O my people, worship Allah, for you have no other god besides Him, you have received a proof from your Lord, this is the camel of Allah for you as a sign, so let it eat in the land of Allah, and do not touch it badly, lest a painful punishment come upon you.") His miracle was of the kind that his people were famous for, namely, carving a camel.

The miracles of Moses

Allah (SWT) supported his Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) with nine clear miracles, for He (SWT) said: "We gave Moses nine clear signs." They were of the type of magic that his people were famous for, such as the stick that turns into a large snake after he throws it on the ground, for He (SWT) said: "What is that in your right hand, O Moses*? (He said, "What is that in your right hand, O Moses*?"* He said, "It is my staff on which I lean, and I will use it for my sheep, and I have other purposes with it."* He said, "Throw it, O Moses*, and he threw it, and behold, it was a living creature striving* He said, "Take it and do not be afraid, we will restore it to its first state. After the snake swallowed the snakes of the magicians, they all believed, because they realised its miracle and that it was not the work of human beings. Another of his miracles was his white hand, which shone like the moon after he put it in his pocket and then took it out: ("And bind your hand to your side, and it will come out white without any ill effects.) As for the other seven verses, they are mentioned in Almighty Allah's words: (We have taken the family of Pharaoh by years and a shortage of fruits so that they may remember* When the good comes to them, they say, "This is ours," and if a bad one befalls them, they fly away from Moses and those with him, but most of them do not know. And they said, "Whatever sign you bring us that you may bewitch us with, we are not believers in you." So We sent upon them the flood, the locusts, the locusts, the lice, the tigers, the frogs, and the blood:

- Years: This is the withholding of rain from the people of Egypt, the lack of water for them, and the barrenness and dryness of their land. Shortage of fruits, through God Almighty preventing fruits from coming out, and what does come out is eaten by birds.

- The flood: What caused the destruction of their farms and cities.

- Locusts: The one that eats everything.

- Lice: an insect that harms their bodies.

- Frogs: Allah Almighty sent them upon them in great numbers, and they made their lives difficult for them.

- Blood: That which is in all their food and drink.

The Miracle of David (peace be upon him)

Allah (SWT) gave his prophet David (peace be upon him) the mountains and the birds, and they praised with him, as Allah (SWT) said: (And We made with David the mountains to praise him and the birds, and We were the doers).

Miracles of Solomon, peace be upon him

Allah (SWT) supported his prophet Sulayman (peace be upon him) with many miracles, after he asked Allah (SWT) to give him a kingdom that would not be given to any man after him, because Allah (SWT) said: (He said: "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that will not be given to anyone after me, for you are the giver." God Almighty responded to him and gave him a kingdom and a civilisation based on miracles, and these miracles were never before or after them, and continued with Sulayman, peace be upon him, while he was alive:

- The wind was harnessed to him: Allah (swt) said: Allah (swt) described this wind as being benign, meaning that it does good and does not harm, and this wind was able to travel in one day what people travelled in two months, and it moved by his command, went wherever he wanted, rained, and guided the ships, by the will of Allah (swt). It moved at his command, went wherever he wished, went throughout his kingdom, rained, and guided the ships at the will of Sulayman, peace be upon him. He also used it to defend the religion and all those who fought against him, and he rode on it and passed it over his kingdom, and it also conveyed to him the news of the people.

- The jinn were harnessed to him: He used to control them and use them for the benefit of his kingdom, erecting niches for him to use in worship and obedience, ordering them to dive into the seas and extract pearls and coral from them, and whoever disobeyed his order was imprisoned and chained to him.

- Liquefying brass for him: In order to make weapons, Allah (SWT) provided him with an eye from which brass would flow like water, as Allah (SWT) says: "And We liquefied for him the eye of drops", and he ordered the jinn to mould it into the shape he wanted.

- Talking to what does not speak: He also knew the language of insects, plants, and others, and they were among his soldiers, bringing him news from distant areas. He also knew the language of insects, plants, and others, and they were among his soldiers, bringing him news from distant areas.

Jesus' miracles

Allah, the Almighty, provided His Prophet Jesus with a number of miracles, some of which are mentioned in the words of the Almighty: (When Allah said, "O Jesus son of Mary, remember my blessing upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Holy Spirit, when you spoke to men in the womb and as a child, when I taught you the Scripture, wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel, and when you create out of clay the form of a bird with my permission and blow into it, and it becomes a bird. With My permission, you blow into it and it becomes a bird with My permission, and you heal the deaf and blind with My permission, and you bring forth the dead with My permission, and I stopped the Children of Israel from you when you came to them with proofs, but those among them who disbelieved said, "This is nothing but clear magic." These are as follows:

- He was born without a father, and Allah, the Almighty, explained that it is one of the easy things for Him, as He said: "Thus says your Lord, 'It is easy for me, and we will make him a sign to people and a mercy from us, and it was a decisive decree." He is a spirit from Allah, the Almighty, and His word that He gave to his mother Mary, as He said: (When the angels said, "Mary, Allah is announcing to you a word from Him, whose name is Christ Jesus, son of Mary, who will be honourable in this world and the next, and among the near and dear ones.")

- As a child, he spoke as an old man, as he spoke as a child that he was a servant of God who gave him the Book and made him a prophet.

- Blow into the bird-shaped clay, and it becomes a real bird.

- He healed the blind and lepers, raised the dead, and told his companions what they had to eat and drink and what they were saving.

God Almighty sent him a table from heaven, based on the request of his people. Downloading the Gospel to him and making him a blessing wherever he is.

Miracles of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

God supported his Prophet Muhammad with many miracles, some of which are similar to the miracles of previous prophets, and some of which are unique to him, including the following:

- Giving him moral miracles, the greatest of which is the Holy Qur'an, by which he challenged the Arabs, the people of eloquence and eloquence, to come up with the like of it, or ten suras like it, or one sura, and they did not come like it, which is the only miracle of all the miracles of the prophets that remain until now and until the establishment of the hour.

- Supporting him with physical miracles, of which there are many, such as Isra' and Miraj, to serve as proof of his truthfulness, as the Almighty says: "Praise be to Him who sent His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Lesser Mosque, which We blessed around him. (Praise be to Him who sent His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Lesser Mosque, around which We have blessed him). Other sensory miracles include water coming out of his fingers at the Peace of Hudaybiyyah. In addition to the blessing of food and its increase, and Allah's answer to his prayers, he would not raise his hand without Allah answering him, in addition to the palm trees and trees coming to him to protect him from the sun and its heat, or when he fulfilled his need.

- His knowledge of some of the unseen things that Allah (SWT) told him about, and these unseen things may be in his time, or a little later, or in a distant time in the end times; such as his telling him about the defeat of the Persian Kesra and the superiority of the Romans over them, and his promise to conquer Persia and Madain, which was in the time of Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), as well as the spread of ignorance, lack of knowledge, the deceptive years, telling him the signs of the great Hour, and other unseen things.

- The miracle of splitting his chest when he was young, as Gabriel, peace be upon him, split his chest and took out the devil's luck from it, then washed it with Zamzam water and put it back in its place, and Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he could see the trace of the thread in his chest.

He said: "I know a stone in Mecca that used to greet me before I was sent, and I know it now." In addition, after the Prophet's companions built him a new pulpit, the stump on which he was leaning cried and the Prophet touched it.
