Rustamit iu desh t\u00eb nd\u00ebrmerrte veprime p\u00ebr t\u00eb ndaluar p\u00ebrkeq\u00ebsimin n\u00eb frontin e brendsh\u00ebm dhe p\u00ebr t\u00eb arritur \u00e7do fitore mbi ushtrin\u00eb myslimane p\u00ebr t\u00eb ngritur moralin e ushtris\u00eb s\u00eb tij. Ai mbajti nj\u00eb takim n\u00eb nivelet m\u00eb t\u00eb larta t\u00eb udh\u00ebheqjes dhe thirri komandantin, Al-Jalinos, i cili ishte arratisur nga luftimet kund\u00ebr mysliman\u00ebve. Ai u t\u00ebrbua me t\u00eb dhe e d\u00ebnoi me vdekje me nj\u00eb d\u00ebnim me kusht, duke e ulur nga komandant i p\u00ebrgjithsh\u00ebm n\u00eb ndihm\u00ebs komandant t\u00eb p\u00ebrgjithsh\u00ebm. Al-Jalinosi i shpjegoi atij se numri i madh nuk ishte i dobish\u00ebm kund\u00ebr ushtris\u00eb myslimane. Kjo po zbulonte nj\u00eb sekret dhe po zbulonte \u00e7\u00ebshtje t\u00eb organizimit ushtarak. Kur mesazhi i arriti, ai u t\u00ebrbua dhe tha: \u201cP\u00ebr Allahun, nuk do t\u2019i lejoj t\u00eb kalojn\u00eb dhe t\u00eb thon\u00eb se ne ishim frikacak\u00eb q\u00eb refuzuam t\u2019i takonim.\u201d Shok\u00ebt ran\u00eb dakord t\u00eb mos kalonin tek ata dhe i than\u00eb: \u201cSi mund t\u00eb kalosh tek ata dhe t\u00eb nd\u00ebrpres\u00ebsh vij\u00ebn t\u00ebnde t\u00eb t\u00ebrheqjes, me Eufratin pas teje?!\u201d Musliman\u00ebt dhe njer\u00ebzit e Gadishullit Arabik ishin t\u00eb aft\u00eb n\u00eb luft\u00ebn n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb. Ata gjithmon\u00eb b\u00ebnin nj\u00eb vij\u00eb t\u00ebrheqjeje n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb p\u00ebr veten e tyre. N\u00eb rast t\u00eb nj\u00eb disfate, ushtria mund t\u00eb kthehej n\u00eb shkret\u00ebtir\u00eb pa u shkat\u00ebrruar plot\u00ebsisht. Megjithat\u00eb, Ebu Ubaidi k\u00ebmb\u00ebnguli n\u00eb mendimin e tij p\u00ebr t\u00eb kaluar. Ushtria islame ishte e mbushur n\u00eb nj\u00eb zon\u00eb shum\u00eb t\u00eb vog\u00ebl. El-Muthanna ibn Haritha e pa k\u00ebt\u00eb dhe ia p\u00ebrs\u00ebriti k\u00ebshill\u00ebn e tij Ebu Ubaidit, duke i th\u00ebn\u00eb: &quot;Ti po na hedh vet\u00ebm n\u00eb shkat\u00ebrrim.&quot; Ebu Ubaid k\u00ebmb\u00ebnguli n\u00eb mendimin e tij.
