El Profeta, que Dios le bendiga y le conceda paz, dijo: \u201cA Irak se le ha negado su dirham y su qafiz, a Siria se le ha negado su mudd y su dinar, y a Egipto se le ha negado su ardeb y su dinar, y hab\u00e9is regresado al punto de partida\u201d. Narrado por Muslim.
En cuanto a (Qafiz), es una medida conocida por el pueblo de Iraq.
En cuanto a (al-Madi), se pronuncia con damma en el mim, con el mismo peso que (qafl), y es una medida bien conocida por la gente del Levante.
El ardeb es una medida muy conocida entre el pueblo de Egipto.

En otra narraci\u00f3n bajo la autoridad de Abu Nadrah (que Allah est\u00e9 complacido con \u00e9l), dijo: \u201cEst\u00e1bamos con Jabir ibn Abdullah (que Allah est\u00e9 complacido con ambos) y dijo: \u201cPronto la gente de Irak no tendr\u00e1 ni un qafiz ni un dirham recolectado de ellos\u201d. Dijimos: \u201c\u00bfDe d\u00f3nde vendr\u00e1 eso?\u201d Dijo: \u201cLos persas lo impedir\u00e1n\u201d. Luego dijo: \u201cPronto la gente de Ash-Sham no tendr\u00e1 ni un dinar ni un mudd recolectado de ellos\u201d. Dijimos: \u201c\u00bfDe d\u00f3nde vendr\u00e1 eso?\u201d Dijo: \u201cDe los romanos\u201d. Luego guard\u00f3 silencio por un momento, luego dijo: \u201cEl Mensajero de Allah (que la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sean con \u00e9l) dijo: \u201cAl final de mi naci\u00f3n habr\u00e1 un califa que esparcir\u00e1 riqueza sin contarla\u201d.
