I had two choices, either this world or the hereafter, so I chose the hereafter.<\/strong>

At the request of my dear friends, I wore the military uniform with my new rank, Lieutenant Colonel, for one day only (after an absence of more than a year and a half since June 30, 2013, during which I did not wear military uniforms) so that it would be the last picture of me in military uniform before I retire, the uniforms that I have always been proud to wear and I have always hoped that the day would come when I would fight Israel in these uniforms, but God has decreed and what He wills shall happen.

My promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel was for one day effective from January 1, 2015 after a delay of two years as I was supposed to be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in January 2013

I was also retired effective January 2, 2015, after more than twenty years in the armed forces, during which I learned a great deal and I will always be proud to have been an officer in the armed forces.

I apologize to my friends and relatives who wanted me to continue serving and I did not achieve what they hoped for for the following reasons:<\/strong>
1 - I am constantly monitored in all my movements and calls. I would not have been able to bear this monitoring if I returned to work in the army, and I would not have been able to change the situation within the army in light of this monitoring.
2- I was certain that I would not be promoted to become a brigadier general or a major general, given my previous positions with the revolution, unless I gave up many principles that I was not prepared to give up.
3- If I returned to service, I would have been required to listen and obey, and I would not have tolerated remaining silent about any mistake I saw. In this case, problems would have occurred throughout my service in the army.
4- My disagreement was not with the army, but rather with the army leaders\u2019 policy towards the revolution. If it weren\u2019t for their policy, I would have wished to continue serving in the army.
5 - I was not prepared to one day stand carrying my weapon against the Egyptians. I entered the Military College to point my weapon at Israel, and I was not prepared to be one of the implants of the Mubarak regime and its supporters.

For these reasons, I have requested retirement. My request was not due to a dislike of the army or a dislike of continuing to serve in it. I had hoped to serve in the armed forces under better conditions than we are in now, and in times of war, not peace.

Since my release from prison in January 2013, I've wanted to return to the army to work in an administrative position away from any contact with citizens. However, under the current circumstances, I had no choice but to request my release from the army several months ago, and they approved my request.

I may be sad about losing what I consider the noblest job, namely jihad for the sake of God and to protect my homeland and citizens. However, I hope that God will grant me success in my civilian life and compensate me with something better than what I have lost.

I am not withdrawing. My battle with falsehood is still ongoing, whether I am a soldier or a civilian. I am with you and I will not leave you or let you down. I still believe in the goals of the January Revolution and I will not change my principles and goals.

Anyone who is not convinced by the reasons I have mentioned has certainly never joined the army and does not know what the nature of work within it is.
I hope that everyone who wanted me to continue in the army will accept my apology and appreciate my position. I am absolutely certain that there are people in the army who are much better than me, but you do not know them.

What I did was for the sake of Allah's pleasure, not your pleasure. I did it without consulting anyone and came after much thought and did not happen spontaneously. What is important to me is that you understand my choices. Your acceptance or disapproval of what I did will not advance or delay anything. What I need from you is your prayers for me in the coming period.
