I am not the best or bravest officer as some of you think.<\/strong>

There are many officers better than me, it's just that circumstances made me show you
I was unknown to anyone except a very few revolutionaries who met me in demonstrations before the events of Mohamed Mahmoud in 2011. I could have remained unknown to you if I had been at work. I would not have participated in the events of Mohamed Mahmoud at that time, so I would have shown you.
It is a set of circumstances that accumulated with me that made you know me. These circumstances could have happened to another officer, so you would know him and not me.
From January 25 until the resignation, I was serving in a remote area in the Western Desert and I hardly knew what was going on in Tahrir Square. When I saw what was happening in the Battle of the Camel, I wanted to go down and defend the square with you, but transportation was stopped at that time, so I was unable to travel to Cairo at that time.
On April 8, I intended to announce my joining the revolution, but that did not happen because of my wife\u2019s illness.
In the events of Muhammad Mahmoud, if the clashes had stopped after a day or two, I would not have announced my joining you, but I announced my joining after the fourth day of the beginning of the clashes.

Conclusion

There are circumstances that made me appear to you at some point during the events of the revolution. I could have appeared at the beginning of the revolution or after the events of Mohamed Mahmoud, and these circumstances could have happened to other officers.

There is a very fine line between remaining silent about injustice and speaking the truth in front of an unjust ruler. It is like the fine line between remaining in the back rows of demonstrations and advancing to the front lines and facing bullets and death.
This fine line is one of yours that you may cross sometimes, but not all the time.
I crossed this line at a certain moment and under certain circumstances that could have happened to better officers than me.

Once again there are better officers than me and I am sure of this, but circumstances are what made me appear before you one day.
