Introduction by Professor Dr. Ragheb El-Sergany to my book Unforgettable Leaders<\/span><\/h1>


In the history of the Nation of Islam, there are men who lit up history for those who came after them, men who distinguished themselves in every field.
In the history of a nation, you may not find so many shining symbols; Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: \"You will find people like a hundred tribes in which a man cannot find a camel.) Narrated by al-Bahari and Muslim.
Therefore, the distinguished men in general history are few, but many of these few have emerged and excelled in Islamic history and civilisation.
The Islamic State was born with brave heroes and mujahideen, and how many leaders emerged and led the Islamic armies to great victories, thanks to Allah Almighty, and then by their genius and courage!
Age was not a factor in determining leaders in Islam, but rather competence and ability; the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, chose Osama ibn Zayd at the age of eighteen to lead an army fighting the Romans, with Abu Bakr and Umar ibn al-Khattab under his command.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) over the senior companions in the Battle of The Chains, and he had only entered Islam a few days before, and Khalid ibn al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) led the senior companions in the Battle of Mu'ata, while he was a new convert to Islam.
The criteria for selecting leaders in Islamic history were objective and related to competence only, which is why Islamic civilisation has produced outstanding leaders throughout its history.
After that, Muslims learnt that they needed to prepare future leaders, so we find the spread of training in horsemanship, jihad, and archery.
The history of leadership in Islam is rich in meanings, deep concepts and outstanding personalities; hence the importance of this book.
