I wrote and published my first book in secret before the revolution when I was an officer in the armed forces. It was a book entitled The Virtue of Patience over Affliction. I met Sheikh Muhammad Hassan in 2009, who agreed to write an introduction to this book. It was as follows:<\/span><\/h1>

Alhamdulillah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
God has made patience an unstoppable army, an undefeatable army, and a fortress that cannot be destroyed. He said that those who are patient are in the company of Allah and He loves them, and what a dignity!
The Almighty said: Allah is with the patient [Al-Baqarah: 153].
And Allah loves the patient [Al-Imran: 146].
He made leadership in religion contingent on patience and certainty: \"And We made among them imams who guide by Our command when they were patient and had faith in Our revelations\" [Al-Sajda: 24].
He gathered for the patient people these glad tidings that he did not gather for others, saying: \"We will test you with things of fear and hunger and shortages of wealth, lives and fruits: And We will test you with something of fear and hunger, and a shortage of wealth, lives and fruits, and good news for the patient (155) Those who, when a calamity befalls them, say, \"We are Allah, and to Him we return (156) Those are the ones who have prayers from their Lord, and mercy, and those are the ones who are guided (157)\" [Al-Baqarah].
He then explained the honour of the patient people in Paradise, with the angels entering Paradise to greet them and greet them, saying: And the angels will enter them from every door (23) Peace be upon you for what you have endured, for good is the reward for those who are patient (24) ([Al-Ra'd]) [Al-Ra'd].
He summarised their unlimited favour and reward, saying: Those who are patient will receive their reward without reckoning [Al-Zamar: 10].
Yes, patience, like its name, is bitter in taste, but its consequences are sweeter than honey.
What is patience?
Patience in language: It is the prevention and confinement.
Patience is a legal term: It is the restraint of the soul from panic, the restraint of the tongue from complaining, and the restraint of the limbs from sinning.
* It is divided into three sections:
- Patience for what is commanded. That is, patience in obedience.
- Patience from the prohibited. That is, patience against sin.
- Patience for what is destined. That is, patience with the calamities and trials that Allah has decreed for the slave.
The beautiful patience is the one that seeks the face of Allah, not out of fear of people so that they do not say \"jazza'a\", nor to beautify for the sake of people so that they say \"patience\", but rather to be patient, believing in the good and evil destiny of Allah, transcending the pain and rising above the complaint.
There are two types of complaints:
A complaint to God, and a complaint from God!
As for complaining to Allah, it does not contradict patience, as Allah said about Ya'qub, peace be upon him: \"Patience is beautiful, and Allah is our help against what you describe\" [Yusuf: 18].
Nevertheless, he raised his complaint to God, saying: \"I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah\" [Yusuf: 86].
God Almighty praised Job, peace be upon him, yet he raised his complaint to God, saying: \"And Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord, saying, 'I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most merciful of the merciful'\" [Al-Anbiya: 83].
The sane believer must know that the world is a place of trial and test, and its happiness is a dream of sleep, and a fleeting shadow, if it makes you laugh a little, it makes you cry a lot, if it makes you happy for a day, it makes you sad for a lifetime, if it makes you happy for a little, it makes you sad for a long time, and for every joy there is a pain!
The wise man is the one who looks with the eyes of his vision and the light of his faith and knows with certainty that what is right for him would not have been wrong for him and what is wrong for him would not have been right for him, so he looks at the Book of Allah Almighty and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace be upon him) to find out the reward for the patient.
Then let him quench the fire of calamities and trials with the coolness of imitating the people of affliction, headed by the messengers and prophets.
Then, if he looks and searches among the people of the earth, he will see no one among them who is not afflicted by the loss of a beloved thing or the occurrence of a hated thing!
In a time when trials and tribulations abound, we need constant reminders.
Thanks to patience with affliction, identifying the wisdom of affliction, recognising the types of affliction, following the example of the prophets and apostles, and other important issues related to this venerable subject.
May Allah reward him well and make us and him one of the patient ones, and may Allah make our eyes close to all of us to support this religion, and may Allah pray, peace and blessings be upon the Imam of the Prophets and upon his family and companions.
