A message to my friends and comrades from the Tamarod campaign
If I hated you, I would not write to you these notes about your campaign, but I know how patriotic you are and your dedication to the revolution, so please accept my notes with open arms and consider them from a brother who wants the good of the country but with another vision that differs from yours, knowing that our goal is the same, which is the good of our beloved Egypt It is possible that my vision is wrong and you are the one who is right, so I am offering you my view of your campaign so that we can integrate our vision together and come up with the right solutions from our crisis, so please accept my remarks, namely
1- Unfortunately, we did not learn from history, we overthrew Mubarak and let the military council rule, so do we repeat the same mistake and wait for the military council to rule us in the same way and with different people 2- There are many felouls who support the Tamarod campaign and go along with it because they are sure that the former regime will return in a different form 3- It is illogical that the campaign aims to topple Morsi and install a civilian presidential council. Who are the members of this council? Who are the political forces that agreed on it? I think the idea of a civilian presidential council was one of the solutions two years ago because we were already in a transitional period, but now this solution does not make sense because the people are not willing to endure another transitional period. 4- It is illogical that the goals of the campaign are to hold early presidential elections. Who will supervise the holding of these elections and who will call for them? Is President Morsi unlikely to call for early elections when he knows that these elections are a death certificate for the Muslim Brotherhood, and if the goals of the Tamarod campaign are to overthrow Morsi and the military council after him and then call for presidential elections, this is considered a dream because the return of the military council to rule means staying in it for at least twenty years and this time it will be with popular support because simple citizens are tired of the revolution and in this case the revolutionaries of Tahrir will be a minority and the revolution will fail. 5- There are some revolutionaries who want to remove Morsi from the presidency by any means whatsoever as a result of their sense of betrayal by the Muslim Brotherhood and the desire to take revenge on the group makes them take unplanned and unplanned steps and unfortunately the remnants of the former regime exploit this desire for revenge and channel it for their purposes of returning to power again.
Solution 1- The campaign should have a clear goal of overthrowing Morsi and taking over the government with several personalities agreed upon by the political forces and expressing the revolution so that we do not leave an opportunity for the military council to rule us again and the revolution fails. 2- If the political forces do not agree now on a figure to take over after Morsi, is it logical that they will agree on it during the rule of the fulouls or the military council after Morsi? Either agree now or wait 3 years to agree during the next presidential elections. 3- For myself, it is illogical for me to revolt for the return of the military council after having revolted previously until it hands over power to an elected president, otherwise I am going round in circles unless there is an alternative agreed upon by the political forces
After these remarks, which I would not have recommended to my friends, whom I know how patriotic they are, and God knows how much I love them and if I did not love them, I would not have advised them and risked my future for the sake of my advice to them
The reason for the failure of our revolution until now is the lack of planning, and I know for sure that there are some Tahrir revolutionaries who have the same fears as me about the campaign, but they do not want to reveal their fears for fear of being accused of betraying the revolution, resignation and disloyalty, but I am not the type of person who sees a mistake and is silent about it for fear of being accused of treason, and the days will prove the correctness of my point of view.
