Praise be to God, after much suffering, my sixth book, The Characteristics of the Shepherd and the Flock, has been written and printed. It is a book that deals with the relationship between the shepherd and the flock and the rights and duties of each of them. In this book, light is shed on these rights and duties and how to apply them based on what is stated in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The book deals with many issues such as (the state and the pillars of governance in Islam - the constitution - the system of government in Islam - the just ruler - the unjust ruler - elections - the opposition - liberalism, secularism, socialism and communism - military power - the judiciary - the separation of powers - Islam and the religious state - Islam and the civil state - Islamic Shura and Western democracy - the concept of freedom - freedom of opinion in Islam - freedom of belief and whether a Muslim can renounce his religion and remain safe - women's rights in the Islamic state - the rights of minorities in the Islamic state).
