Presentation of the Book of Awaited Messages to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif

January 16, 2020

Today I went to the Islamic Research Complex and the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and handed them copies of my book, The Awaited Letters. Attached to my book is a letter to the Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, which reads as follows:

To His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Mosque
Greetings
I now present to you a great scientific and religious trust and a personal effort that concerns all Muslims in the East and West of the world. It is my book (The Awaited Messages), which I hope you will read and study very carefully and not make any preconceived judgments about it before reading it and making a decision about it.
This book has caused me a lot of trouble because of my effort with many proofs from the Qur’an and Sunnah that our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is not the Seal of the Messengers, but rather that our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is only the Seal of the Prophets, and that the Islamic Sharia is the final Sharia, in accordance with the words of God Almighty: “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of God and the Seal of the Prophets. And God is ever Knowing of all things” (40).
Ibn Kathir established a famous rule widely circulated among Muslim scholars, namely, “Every messenger is a prophet.” This is based on the hadith, “The message and prophethood have ended, so there is no messenger or prophet after me.” In my book, I have proven that this hadith is not mutawatir (consecutive) in meaning or wording, and is not authentic. One of the narrators of this hadith is Al-Mukhtar ibn Falful, who was classified by some prominent scholars as truthful but had delusions. Others said that he is one of the objectionable narrators, so his hadith should not be accepted and it is not worthy of drawing a dangerous conclusion from it that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the Seal of the Messengers. In my book, I have explained the difference between a prophet and a messenger, and that it is not a condition that every messenger be a prophet, as Allah the Almighty said: “And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet.” This verse is clear evidence that there are only prophets and only messengers, and it is not a condition that a messenger be a prophet. Therefore, it is not necessary that the Seal of the Prophets be at the same time the Seal of the Messengers.
The noble verse: “How can they receive the reminder when there has come to them a clear Messenger?” (13) Then they turned away from him and said, “A mad teacher.” (14)” [Ad-Dukhan] clarifies that we are awaiting the emergence of a new Messenger whose mission will not be to replace the religion of Islam with another religion, but rather his mission will be to warn people of the torment of the Smoke, which will cause millions of people to die, as I explained in my book with many proofs, including the Almighty’s saying: “And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.” And despite the fact that this Messenger will be clear, people will accuse him of madness, and one of the main reasons for this accusation is that he will say that he is a Messenger from God Almighty, and it is natural that if this Messenger appeared in our current era or in the era of our children or grandchildren Muslims will accuse him of madness due to the belief that has been firmly rooted in their minds for centuries that our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the Seal of the Messengers and not just the Seal of the Prophets as mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Millions of Muslims will die while denying a Messenger from Allah, the Almighty, and they will bear a very heavy burden on the Day of Judgment as a result. However, the greatest burden will be borne by those who issue fatwas and instill in people’s minds a belief, without any evidence in the Qur’an or Sunnah, that our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the Seal of the Messengers. As a result, the sin of those who accuse that Messenger will be placed on the scale of sins of the one who issues such a fatwa, even if he is buried in his grave hundreds of years from now.
I hope that you will review this fatwa before passing it on to our children and grandchildren and before it is too late. Through my research while writing the book, I have concluded that we, and God knows best, are on the threshold of the appearance of a new messenger who will warn people of the first major sign of the Hour, which is the punishment of the clear smoke. We hope that you will study this book carefully without placing preconceived notions on it. And open the door to independent reasoning regarding what is stated in my book and do not close it, because closing it will lead to a major calamity that we, or our children and grandchildren, will witness.
I ask that you keep our children and grandchildren in mind when deciding whether my book (The Awaited Letters) is in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah. As for the consensus of scholars, I acknowledge that my book contradicts the consensus of Muslim scholars due to their belief in the rule of Ibn Kathir. I am not asking you to invalidate the consensus of Muslim scholars, but I am asking you to place my ijtihad alongside the ijtihad of other Muslim scholars, and for my opinion to be included among the legal opinions recognized by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif so that we do not close the door on any messenger that Allah Almighty will send to us in the future, as stated in the Quran and Sunnah.
We ask God Almighty to show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and to show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it. He is capable of all things, and all praise is due to God, Lord of the Worlds.
