Dajjal's Temptation

September 20, 2013

On the authority of Abu Umamah, the hadith of the Prophet: “O people! There has not been a trial on the face of the earth since Allah created the offspring of Adam greater than the trial of the Antichrist. Allah the Almighty did not send a prophet except that he warned his nation about the Antichrist. I am the last of the prophets and you are the last of the nations. He will inevitably emerge among you. If he emerges while I am among you, then I will be a witness for every Muslim. If he emerges after me, each of them will be a witness for himself. Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He will emerge from a gap between Syria and Iraq and will spread corruption right and left. O servants of Allah! O people! Be steadfast, for I will describe him to you in a way that no prophet before me has described him… He will say: I am your Lord, and you will not see your Lord until you die. He is one-eyed, but your Lord is not one-eyed. Between his eyes is written: Disbeliever. Every believer, literate or illiterate, will read it.”
Among his trials is that he has Paradise and Hell. His Hell is Paradise and his Paradise is Hell. So whoever is afflicted with his Hell should seek help from God and recite the opening verses of Surat Al-Kahf.
Among his trials is that he will say to the Bedouin, “Tell me, if I resurrect your father and mother, will you testify that I am your Lord?” He will say, “Yes.” Then two devils will appear to him in the form of his father and mother and say, “O my son, follow him, for he is your Lord.” Among his trials is that he will give power over a single soul and kill it, sawing it apart until it is split in two. Then he will say, “Look at this servant of Mine, for I will resurrect him.” Then he will claim that he has a lord other than Me. Then Allah will resurrect him and the wicked one will say to him, “Who is your Lord?” He will say, “My Lord is Allah, and you are the enemy of Allah. You are the Antichrist. By Allah, I have never been more perceptive about you than I am today.”
Among his trials is that he orders the sky to rain, and it rains, and orders the earth to grow, and it grows.
Among his trials is that he will pass by a tribe and they will call him a liar, and not a single grazing animal will remain except that it will perish. Among his trials is that he will pass by a tribe and they will believe him, and he will command the sky to rain, and it will rain, and he will command the earth to produce vegetation, and it will produce vegetation, until their livestock return that day fatter than ever, larger, with fuller sides and more fertile udders.
And that nothing on earth will remain but that he will tread upon it and prevail over it, except Mecca and Medina. He will not approach them from any of their passages except that the angels will meet him with drawn swords until he descends at the red mountain at the end of the salt marsh. Then Medina will shake with its people three times, and there will not remain in it a hypocrite, male or female, except that he will come out to him. Then the filth will be expelled from it as the bellows expels the impurities from iron. And that day will be called the Day of Deliverance. It was said: Where will the Arabs be on that day? He said: They will be few on that day, and their imam will be a righteous man. While their imam has advanced to lead them in the dawn prayer, Jesus, son of Mary, will descend upon them at dawn. So that imam will go back, walking backwards for Jesus to advance. Jesus will put his hand between his shoulders and say to him: Advance and lead the prayer, for it has been established for you. So their imam will lead them in prayer. And when he has finished, Jesus will say: Open the door. So they will open it, and behind him will be the Antichrist with seventy thousand Jews, all of them with adorned swords and shields. When the Antichrist looks at him, he will melt as salt melts in water. And he runs away, and he catches up with him at the eastern gate of Ludd and kills him, and God defeats the Jews. Nothing that God Almighty created that a Jew could use to protect himself remains, except that God makes that thing speak: no stone, no tree, no wall, no animal except the gharqadah, for it is one of their trees. It does not speak except that it says: O Muslim servant of God, this is a Jew, so come and kill him.
Jesus, son of Mary, will be a just judge and a fair Imam in my nation. He will break the cross, slaughter the pig, abolish the jizya, and abandon the charity. He will not seek to harm a sheep or a camel. Hatred and animosity will be lifted, and the venom of every venomous creature will be removed, until a newborn child puts his hand into the mouth of a snake and it will not harm him, and a newborn child will be harmed by a lion and it will not harm her. The wolf will be among the sheep as if it were their dog, and the earth will be filled with peace as a vessel is filled with water. The word will be one, and none will be worshipped except Allah. War will lay down its burdens, and the kingdom of the Quraysh will be taken away. The earth will be like a silver bull, producing its vegetation during the time of Adam, until people gather to pick grapes and satisfy them. People gather to pick a pomegranate and it will satisfy them. The bull will be worth so-and-so much money, and the horse will be worth dirhams. And before the emergence of the Antichrist, there will be three difficult years in which people will be afflicted with severe famine. Allah will command the sky in the first year to withhold a third of its rain and command the earth to withhold a third of its vegetation. Then in the second year He will command the sky to withhold two-thirds of its rain and command the earth to withhold two-thirds of its vegetation. Then in the third year He will command the sky to withhold All of its rain falls, but not a single drop falls. He orders the earth to withhold all of its vegetation, so that no green plant grows, and not a hoofed creature will remain but that it will perish, except what Allah wills. It was said: “What will people live by in that time?” He said: “Tahlil (saying ‘There is no god but Allah’), Takbir (saying ‘Allahu Akbar’), and Tahmid (praising Allah), and that will suffice them as food is sufficed for them.”
